The HSE has undertaken research and compiled a report into the use or non-use of seat belts when using forward tipping dumpers (FTD). The full report can be viewed on the HSE website but in brief it was felt necessary to conduct the investigation as it was found that a number of operators were choosing not to wear seat belts which puts them at risk of being crushed should the tipper overturn.
